The Graduate Diploma in Management (Learning) provides a solid grounding and depth of skills and knowledge of practical business strategies and applications in the field of organisational learning. This qualification is suited for persons with diverse management or technical backgrounds who want to grow in the learning management area.

The course covers highly specialised knowledge and skills in the field of organisational learning and capability development. You will gain skills to create and evaluate complex ideas. You will also learn to initiate, design and execute major learning and development functions within an organisation.

3 core units  plus

5 elective units,  of which:

  • 3 elective units must be selected from the elective units listed below
  • for the remaining 2 elective units:
  • up to 2 units may be selected from the elective units listed below
  • if not listed, up to 2 units may be selected from an Advanced Diploma, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma from this or any other currently endorsed Training Package qualification or accredited course.

The Training package for the BSB80120– Graduate Diploma in Management (Learning) does not have any formal entry requirements. However, London College has specific entry requirements.

Enrolling students must provide the evidence of the following:

General Entry Requirements:

  • 18 years of age.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Meet all student visa requirements

Academic entry requirements:

  • Have completed a Bachelor degree.

OR

  • Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification in related fields of study and 2 years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility in an enterprise.

OR

  • Have 3 years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility in an enterprise.

A minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent is required.

International Students who do not meet the English language requirements for this course may undertake English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) according to the English Learning Matrix.

All new students (except RPL candidates) are required to undertake an LLN Test after enrolment and prior to commencing the course.

LLN tests are designed by the college. The tests are categorised based on the students’ qualifications. They will be used as a tool to assist college personnel in identifying students who may require support in language and/or numeracy.

LLN Tests are designed in accordance with the Australian Core Skills Framework as a guideline.

Learners must possess the necessary physical abilities and manual handling skills to perform the tasks required for the role. As community service workers, they will be working in close proximity to individuals and will spend a significant amount of time on their feet. The job also involves heavy lifting, such as transferring a person between bed and chair, providing bed bathing, and assisting with car transfers. Additionally, learners will be handling chemical products and treatments and may be exposed to diseases or infections. Therefore, prospective learners should carefully consider their personal barriers before enrolling in this course.

In line with its access and equity policy, UWA will identify any barriers presented by learners during Pre-Training Review before enrolment and may provide support and reasonable adjustment where possible.

All students enrolling on this qualification at Unified WA must have basic computer skills. Students are required to fill in the questions related to computer and internet skills in the Pre-Training Review form provided along with the application form. Students who do not possess basic computing skills will be provided with basic computer user support. students can contact Unified WA for any further information or assistance.

UWA will provide access to computers with required resources during classroom hours to work on assignments and tasks, all learners are expected to have access to a laptop or computer with the Windows 7 operating system or higher at their own cost.  Learners should have an active email address for communication and be contactable by phone (mobile or landline) and by mail (postal address).  All learners should have access to MS office applications such as Microsoft Word and an email platform at their own cost.

Material Fees will only include printed reading materials and books provided by the institute.

Learners are also required to meet the dress, grooming and personal hygiene standards as outlined in the UWA Student Handbook and as would be expected in the occupation of a Care Worker, including wearing non-slip closed-toe shoes, surgical masks, gloves, goggles, glasses, face shields, gowns, aprons etc.

The Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) course will be delivered face-to-face for 20 hours per week over 52 weeks, including term breaks.

Assessment methods used for this course are Knowledge test, Case studies/Observation/Role play/Portfolio/Report, Project/presentation, Practical placement.
